Heart Scales

I can't find any Heart Scales. According to my Game Guide, I can Find them by using "Rock Smash", or Receive it as a Pokethon Prize on Wednesday. I tried using "Rock Smash" and Yet all I found were Krabby, Shuckle, Geodude, Graveler, and some colored shards, but NO Heart Scales. Plus the chances of winning that item at a pokethon is pretty slim. What's the easiest way to obtain heart scales in Heart Gold and Soul Silver?

Try to use Rock Smash on different locations. What do you mean with that the chances of geting it on pokeathonare slim? You get around 300-400 points depending on how well you do per entry. Heart scales cost 1000 points per piece. Enter 3-4 times and you can buy one.

If you have a D/P or Pl game, you should go to the underground. To find heart scales there is almost to easy.

some rock in water have them too, you just need to locate them using the item finder

Use the dowsing machine in rt.32. its in the water. and in the water in vermilion city by the boats
