That's half-true. Dig up a Pitfall Seed or get one from Booker's Lost and Found in the Gate.
Next find an unsuspecting Resident walking around. Get out your shovel and bury the Pitfall Seed(s) somewhere near them. If you're lucky, the Resident will walk into your trap and become momentarily stuck in the ground! Mwahahahahahaaaaaaaa!

That is partially true, if you bury a pitfall seed, and push a neighbor into it they will fall into it, but you can't fully bury them.

O.k whoever told you this is half true. You can make your neighbours fall in a hole if you plant a pitfall seed and they fall into it. It is fun if you don't like them very much.
