Question for Animal Crossing: Wild World

I ut 50,000 bells in the bank and did not get a letter saying that they added 99,999 bells I did everything it said. I set the date on 2000 then 2099.

Did you set it to 2000 FIRST? Then put 50000 in the bank? Then change it to 2099? That is the way to do it. Year 2000, save 50000, then year 2099.
