Im sorry,but you can't get nookintons without inviting anyone...
I know because I unlocked it!
But I can tell you that in nookintons you can have a hair cut and in the 2nd floor you can see nook's children:Tommy and Timmy!
They are soooooo cute!

I'm doing the same, unfortunately since they discontinued the wifi I dont have a way to connect with a friend. Unless you can find someone near you for DS to DS or you have an Action Replay
