How do you skip your job at the Beginning.?

Actually yeah you sort of can. I only have one person living in my house at a time, so I can hire as many people as I want and then kick them out to earn discounts on my mortgage. First you can "rebel" and wear whatever when Tom gives you your uniform, he gets mad and then calms down. Talk around and do random things when making delivery, don't plant flowers and trees around the store, just don't do exactly what he tells you. Also on your break talk to the mayor and when he asks you who you respect choose something other then "the mayor", because it's funny to see him get all depressed, hm? ;D hope this helps

You cannot but you can plant the flowers near your house instead of near where he tells you. There is a way to stop work, go to your house put two items in there talk to all your villagers then save and quit and then go back on reset the day to another year and pick a flower up (preferably a rose) wear it and then you wont have to work.
