Sorry, it is impossible. Usually, when I go to Able's and Sable's, I pretend to have a job there (stand behind their counter)!

You can just pretend to work at the clothes shop by the counter

Tis is really stupid but, you can open up a store in your house with a casier. You can pretend to sell things. Stupid, I know!

You can actually get a job.
You need nookingtons.
Between 5-7pm, hit the front with a golden shovel 3 times and the back 4, then go into the hair dressers and the lady will be in her p-js. Then talk to her and she will say "honney will you work the counter for me?" say yes and she will give you a work shirt. Put it on, talk to her, then she will go away. Then someone from your town will come in. Tell them to sit down, when they do talk to them and they will say some kind of riddle. Then a screen will pop up and you have to choose a style and colour. I really want a job on animal crossing but can't find one, I mean it gets kind of boring just walking around trying to pay your mortgage and fishing gets boring so does, catching bugs, digging up fossils,and half the time, no one will ask you to deliver something, if they do, you probably wont get bells, youll just get furniture and clothing and stupid stuff like that
