Question for Animal Crossing: Wild World

There is a strange flower in my town. It's red and it looks like one of those giant red ancient flowers. Is it useful? Does it have any purpose? Is there something wrong with my town?

If the flower you are talking about looks like this:



Then yes, there is something wrong with your town.

The flower is called a Rafflesia. It appears when you have lots of weeds or/and trash in your town. It will attract flies to the area it is in. It is very annoying and ugly. It is not useful and its only purpose it to try and make you clean your town through annoying you like mad.

There are two ways to get rid of it:

a) get rid of all the weeds and trash in your town.
b) water it with a golden watering can (once is enough).

Both are equally effective.

I actually came on here to ask another question but stumbled upon this one...I found this flower too and was wondering what it was..I had lost my DS for over a year and recently found, thank goodness I kept my AC WW game...and yes my town if covered in weeds. I've been slowing trying to clean it up!

I found it a couple days ago and finally went on last night and saw this flower, thanks now I know what to do with it. I was trying to shovel it up and catch it with the net. I even try Fishing it out lol!

me too it sucks and i cant get rid of all the weeds

You have to pick all the weeds.
That's right, every single one. It should disappear the next day. If it doesn't you probably missed a weed behind a tree or building.
