Cherries sometimes are your towns native fruit. Sometimes not. If they aren't this is what i did. 1:Get enough paper to write to all your neighbours twice.
2:Collect enough fruit to put in all the letters(any fruit will do)
3:Write on each of the letters what's in the speech marks: "i love cherries" and then attach the fruit which you collected and send the mail at The Town Hall!!
4:If you want pears or apples etc. all you have to do is follow steps 1-3 and instead of "cherries" write the fruit you want. e.g: i love apples.
5: If you want random fruit write i love fruit.

my town has apples but my mom sent me one cherry and thats how i've got both fruits now

go to a friend's town and take some fruit. plant it in your town and wait for a tree to grow. you can then sell the fruits to tom nook for 500 bells each.
