I try to play it but it only sais the "nintendo" voice at the start, and freezes.

Try removing the game card and replace it back in a few times I had this problem during a game I was playing trust me it kind of worked
Yeah i agree with them. remove thhe game card blow out the slot and the card because dust might be causing it to think the game popped out, which makes it freeze. PS if you have action replay make sure it is in completly because it actually pops out while you play.
If someone has came to your town (over wi-fi or wireless communications) then someone might of bricked your town(you can look up seeding and bricking on ac:ww) and that causes that to happen to your cartridge. You might need to buy anew cartridge and start all over. Another cure is to set your DS clock to 1/1/2000, save that, then change it again to 12/31/2099. Try that. There might just be dirt on your cartridge, and that's all. Hope that's useful!
