For that part of the game, you run following the footprints until you see what looks like an arch leading to an open courtyard with a statue in the middle. Basically just go to the part of the wall that looks different from the rest of the wall there. That's the archway leading into the little area with the statue and stuff.

There are 3 tuning forks and 3 ripped parts of the music sheet. They are fairly simple to locate. The music sheet is a clue and the tuning forks are used to solve a music puzzle.
The poem states that "11:00 was two bells too late." The clock chimes on the hour. Reset the clock two hours before 11, which would be 9:00.
The gear comes in a little later with something else. Just keep walking around and look for new things in the house to interact with and changes to things you've already found.

I just walked up to the snowmobile, if you aready got up to the mansion I don't think you can go back down...

If you don't know yet then you probably aren't far enough in the game to do it yet.
You have to find three cylinder type music things that go in those holes, and once you do, turn the crank and keep the dot in the green area until something happens.
Nothing will happen if you don't have all three cylinder things.
