Better birthday

Alright first, I'm playing this on my 3ds. I don't know if that makes a difference, and I don't see why it would but still.
Instead of changing your system date, and causing something to perhaps mess up, or whatever, just change your heros birthday to the date on which you are playing. That way you wont screw up anything else. And yes, you are able to change it as many times as you wish. (at least I've been able too)

Erdrick's helmet

Okay, to make an erdrick's helmet you need a rusty helmet,9 glass frits, an orichalum, and make sure you unlocked the alchemy pot(you can get the orichalum 3 dif. Ways.) Go to stornway with those items. Go over to the alchemy pot and "try your luck". Then when the list appears, put the rusty helmet, 9 glass frits, and the orichalum and bim bam boom, you have an erdrick's sword

Where be dragons??

When you get a dragon diligence, and make someone a dragon, the scroll will disappear.
You might already know this, but if you don't well here tis. (I made someone a dragon and he got to level 8, so I wanted to switch someone else to the dragon, but I couldnt find the scroll...)
You can get more than one tho.
One in the slimeopolis, one in the best dressed contest, andone in mortamors castle. Course if you get lizzy then you don't REALLY need them. But still.

Good level up, money, items.

Go to a dungeon that has metal slimes, but also with a lot of blue chests. Go through the dungeon getting the blue chests, then battle the metlimes (and any other monsters that get in your way), when you deplete your mp (which I will get to later), go to stornway inn, rest, and put your money in the bank. Go save and turn off your game, and go play some other games or read or w/e.
Lame yeah, but after a while (not sure the exact while) go back to dq9, and go back to the dungeon and the blue chests will be back.
Yes, you already knew this, but coupled with the metlimes it's really good to do this several times.
The two dungeons that are good for this (during the main story) are the bad cave and the bowhole. The bad cave for earlier in the game (like when you get to it and a little bit after), then the bowhole when you get to it (and then until the last boss, I got to level 50+ in this dungeon before battling corvus).
The bad cave has metal slime stack (or metal medley, not sure which name) and the bowhole has liquid metal slimes.
The items you get each time are not amazing per say, but in the bowhole I got like 20+ mini medals, not including the ones you get when you get there the first time.
Also, my team is minstrel with a sword, a priest with a spear, a mage (with w/e weapon), and a martial artist with claws.
The mins with a sword be cause of metal slash (or you could use anything that uses a sword. I never change my vocations until I beat the main story, because I feel whats the point? When I'm able to change my vocations I am already established in the ones I started out with. But thats just me. W/e works for you.)
The priest with the spear because of thunder thrust (again or whoever uses a spear. BUT, a priest is nice because of it's healing spells, which is why I talked about basing when you leave the dungeon on your mp. Sure you can buy, or alchemize, herbs but why waste the money, when you can just pay 12gp at stornway)
The mage doesnt have anything special (in my party), so I just make him do a regular attack.
Martial artist with claws, because of flailing nails (again or whoever uses claws, but I prefer a martial artist in my team for reasons that I said in a different hint).

A warrior is good to use on a team

You should use the warrior as someone on your team because it has high hp,good coupe de grace, and it very stong on the sword and shield and is good in battle.

martial artist is your friend

a really good vocation to use in ur beginning party (and even keep it) is martial artist.
first they have high agility, high strength, moderate defense, and high hp. while they have really sucky mp it doesnt matter:
i usually use claws on my MA to use flailing nails and hard claw (see why in my previous post). hard claw doesnt use any mp so its awesome to use with a MA.

best thing i think is they can gain the psyche up ability at an early level which boost up ur tension a notch. couple this with ur heros egg on and u can get to tension 100 a lot quicker.

plus level up in galdiator and gain the feel the burn ability and you have one hell of a MA

a claw user is your friend

claws are AMAZING.
first they can use flailing nails which can hit 4 times in a row which is great for killing the metal slime family. and the attack is to one monster not random so like i said its good for killing metal slimes. occasionally it will miss totally or only do one but it does at least three a lot.
they also can do hard claw. which i think is the best ability in the game (keep in mind that ive only used like 3 percent of the abilitys but ive read about all of them). hard claw hits twice hard to a single monster. and it does more then a single attack. also, and this is what i like to do, cast oomph on ur claw user and bring his/her tension to 100. epicness.
you can also use the claw of god move (might be called hand of god) which does high damge.

assassins blade is your friend

or really any weapon that 'hits the soft spot' but it seemed to me that the assassins blade had a higher percentage of actually working.
also, a weapon that 'hits the soft spot' is great for killing the metal slime family. yeah it doesnt always work but its awesome when you knife user goes first and kills it instantly.

falcon blade is your friend.

1. low attack but you attack twice so you deal more damage then a single attack.
2. if you cast oomph on your sword user and use falcon slash with the falcon blade it deals high damage.
3.what i like to use it for is killing the metal slime family. equip falcon blade and use metal slash and it can do a total of 4 points. occasionally it will only do 1 or miss but thats like any other sword. it usually does at least two.
4. you can alchemize it into an uber falcon blade. while this doesnt have any effect on killing metal slimes, use it like stated in number two and it will give you even more damage.

Bets line up for defeating Corvus in his 2nd form.

I have completed this game and in my line up I used 4 Corvus in his 2nd form was the main character (you) as a Paladin, and the other 3 to be a Sage, an Armamentalist and a Warrior. That was the line up I used. U dont have to us the complete line up but have at least 1 of them but have some strong people on vocations like Gladiator, Paladin, Sage, Armamentalist, Warrior and a Luminary. Hope u find this info useful.

The Magic Key

To get the magic key you need to go to the desert town (sorry i forgot the name) and go to the top of the castle were the old man is. Then go to the back of the place were you got there from. (hope this helps!)

Unlimited Experience (no cheats involved)

In order to do this you firstly need any spell or ability that will attack a group of enemies, i would reccomend an ability that doesn't use up any MP so that this can be done for an unlimited length of time, for example: i used wind sickles as once it has been learned can be used with any vocation as long as you have no weapon equiped.

Now, this ability needs to be strong enough to defeat the slimes outside of bloomingdale in two hits, but still weak enough not to kill them in one shot. And it should be noted that you will need your agility to be high enough for you to attack first each time.

Now, as you will have noticed, the slimes outside of bloomingdale will not attack you, but simply call for more slimes to appear until there are 8 on-screen and then they merge into a king slime. But, you should take note of the fact that one slime requires a turn in order for the whole group to merge.

So this is how the technique works, you need there to be four slimes on screen to begin with, so if there are two defend for a turn so that there are four. Now use your ability or spell on these four slimes which will now mean these four slimes will die on the next hit. Next these four slimes will spawn four more slimes so that there are now 8, but they cannot merge as none of them have a turn left. Now you simply use the ability or spell again, and this will casue the four that were originally there to die, but make it so that the other four will now die on the next hit. These four will then spawn four more, and you should use the ability or spell a third time, and the same will happen again. And this process can be repetead for as many turns as you like.

The only potential problem with this is that occasionally one slime many get a move in edgewise, resulting in the formation of the king slime too early, but with a high enough agility skill this should not occur.

I hope this will have been of some sort of help :D

Lots of Exp for non AR users!

Do you find that it's hard to gain enough exp and lvl up so you can beat that hard boss? Well this might help for those who dont use an action replay!

There are some monsters that give very high amounts of exp when defeated. These monsters are metal monsters. These are mutations of another form of a monster (note: this is NOT a game error!). Some examples are metal slimes, metal slime stack (Found in the Bad Cave, a.k.a. the place where you save marionette), and metal bubble slime. Not all metal monsters are like this. Like the metal hunter robot in the Bad Cave does not count for this. Any creature that is metal, but does not have a previous form that is different do not count. These monsters are rare and are harder to find than the others. I found that when I beat just 1 metal slime stack, it gave all my characters about 10,300 Exp. That is a lot for that level! I remember I was using a x32 action replay cheat when I killed one metal bubble slime and got about 320,000 Exp!!!! (Ill leave you great mathemations to figure out how much that is regularly).

I dont know if there are any other monsters besides those but that is what I know. Try to see for yourself how much Exp you can get from these guys. Happy Playing!!!!!
