Left Alive is a survival-orientated shooter video game that is set in the Front Mission universe. The game is set during a sudden invasion of the border city of Novo Slava in 2127, in which the enemy forces occupy the entire city and begin slaughtering all of its denizens, military or civilian.

Left Alive tells the story of survival from the perspective of three different protagonist you can control - A rookie Wanzer pilot, a police officer, and an escaped convict. As you roam the streets you will face overwhelming odds as you encounter large groups of heavily armed troops in tanks and Wanzers blockading off areas. With a limited inventory you need to scrounge for weapons, ammo and materials with which to craft makeshift weapons such as IED landmines and molotov cocktails to use against the enemy.

Walkthrough, Guide, Strategy

Light

It is recommended that your first playthrough is in 'Light', then as you become more proficient in the game adjust the difficulty settings accordingly. This can be done at any point thoughout the game.

Avoid the Enemy

Most of the objectives early in the game are to reach a designated destination. Since you will not have much in the way of weapons and ammo it is advised that while proceeding you avoid enemy encounters wherever possible. If you encounter a situation where you deem it will be impossible to proceed without being found by enemies you need to make sure you secure the resources you will need beforehand and then evaluate when to use them.

Assess your Surroundings

Take a minute to assess your surroundings and environment when you are faced with what appears to be an impossible situation, there will be times that it will give you the solution you require to continue surviving maybe even without having to fight.

Survivor Missions

The difficulty level for the Survivor missions varies and it is advised that during your first playthrough you only complete 1 or 2 of them just to get a feel, if you try to complete more you may end up using up your limited resources when you are at your weakest.

War Dead Bodies

In Left Alive you will come across several 'war dead bodies' in random areas. These bodies indicate that the area is a 'danger zone' and picking up items from them is a high-risk, high-reward situation. If you do decide to search them make sure you are prepared to encounter powerful enemies before venturing forth.

Heat Map Display

The 'heat map display' feature will activate whenever you are online. This map will show you with red icons the locations where other players died on the battlefield. When you see a specific area is full of red icons there is a very good possibility that there is a threat hidden in the area. Take advantage of this feature by using it to avoid dangerous areas.

Finding the WSG-28 SC Shotgun

You will find the shotgun in Chapter 2 – The Restless. Once you have found the survivors in the farmhouse you will be directed to the abandoned hospital. Before going there head for the ruins in the north while guiding the survivors to the shelter and you will be able to pick up the shotgun there.

Diverting the Attention of Enemies

If you avoid being detected by staying behind cover you can throw empty cans to divert the attention of enemies.
