Introduction

Hello everyone,

I am cheating-is-good, and I will be reviewing Hitman: Blood Money for the XBOX platform. I hope that all the readers enjoy this review. This is my third review, but I will be trying to cover everything that I can without spoiling anything.

Alright, to kick things off, let me explain a little bit about the game; Hitman: Blood Money. Hitman Blood Money is about a clone, an assassin who simply goes by his code number, 47. As you play through the game as Hitman Agent 47, you uncover the mystery surrounding his death. You will also learn several other interesting facts like someone, or something is killing all of the other Assassin's in Agent 47's group. As you progress through the game, the plot will start to fall together, and it will all make sense.

If you are a new player to the Hitman Genre then please keep in mind that there are two other Hitman games before Hitman: Blood Money. They are called Hitman: Contracts, and Hitman: Silent Assassin. So if you have any questions or do not understand something about the plot, then I suggest that you rent those two Hitman games from your local video game rental store, and play them. Things might start making a little bit more sense if you do.

You will have access to a vast collection of guns. Ranging from the old, trusty, Silverballers, to the new M14 machine gun. You can use Shotguns, Rifles, Handguns, hammers, or even hedge clippers. Almost everything that you see, can be used as a weapon. The point is that you need to eliminate your target(s) by any means necessary. Does not matter how you do it, or why you have to, you just have to do it. You can upgrade all your main weapons with all kinds of different changes. You can change the bullet type, equip silencers, you can even change the body of the gun itself. You can also add things such as a scope, or laser vision to your guns, so it will never be the same thing.

You must use your arsenal of weapons to complete the mission objectives, and try not to get caught.

Graphics

Alright, to put it simply, I was disappointed in Hitman: Blood Money.

The graphics were awful, and everything seemed like it was quickly thrown in together. No matter where you went in some levels, the walls, the grass, the non playable character, they would all seem shaky. Even Agent 47 seemed like a normal person, hardly any detail on him. I mean, you could not even read the bar code on the back of his head, and it could barely be seen, even if you zoomed the camera in the farthest that it would go. Everything was shaky, and looked like it would fall apart soon, the game even looked like it would lag badly in a minute. I started running as Agent 47, and everything would shake around me, the result of poorly done graphics.

I am sure that every gamer knows that details are very important in a video game. No matter what game it is, or no matter how good or bad, all games seem to have detail on one thing. I am sad to say, that Hitman: Blood Money obviously did not read the memo. I say this because they did not really make anything look nice, it was all too bland. The characters all looked the same, the only difference in the woman in the game was that they had different hair and clothes. But, they all had the same body. It was too obvious that the creators of Hitman: Blood Money were either to lazy to make the graphics look good, or, they just spent all of their time working on the game play features.

Still, in the few areas of the game where the walls, ground, and thing weren't shaking, it did actually look pretty good. But, it did not look like a 2006 game would at all.

Now, I am sure that most of by now think that I am either over exaggerating, or telling the truth. Well, I am. I am not saying that they are horrible, but, they are still bad. Some things were nice though, like the Silverballers, that was probably the best looking thing in the game actually. Not the movies, not the levels, no even the characters, but a gun.

I give the Graphics for Hitman: Blood Money, a 7/10.

Sound

Now, as we move on to the review of the various songs, and sounds that you hear in Hitman: Blood Money, I would like to remind everyone that the soundtrack, whether it be in a video game, a movie, or on a cartoon show, can make the entire event seem more lively. The music is what sets the mood for the entire thing. Without the music in the background, things can seem a lot more dull, even bland. Get some of the best movies and games, and take away the soundtrack, you will be surprised at how much different it is. It will not make you as excited, it will not make you as sad. The point that I am trying to make is that the sound in a game can make or break it in the Video game genre. It seems that in Hitman: Blood Money, the music is a little bit lacking.

At sometimes now, the music was absolutely great, but at other times, it was absolutely horrible. The sounds, the way the people talked, it hurt my ears. It did not sound genuine, it sounded like they were forced to say their lines. There was no feeling behind it, and the game suffered for it. However, despite the voice actors not doing a good job, there were a few songs that stood out from the rest.

For example, the Ave Maria, the song that starts to play during the beginning sequence, and on the title screen, was absolutely beautiful. That one song made the soundtrack for me, and was pretty much the song that saved Hitman: Blood Money. Other times, the songs were alright, I guess that really, it just depends on your taste in music.

Compared to the other songs, that one was superb. The guns pretty much went off, and sounded like they were supposed to. You could hear a diffference in them. You could hear someones skull crack if you smashed their head with a baseball bat. So, despite some setback, I would say the soundtrack is actually pretty good.

So, for forced voice actors, a few beautiful songs, and weapons making the appropriate noises when used, I give the sounds of Hitman: Blood Money, a 10/10.

Gameplay

Now, the gameplay of Hitman: Blood Money was probably the main reason that so many liked this game. The gameplay was, you could say, the the thing that made so many people forget about the bad graphics, and horrible voice actors. The gameplay of this Hitman game, was very, very, very awesome. If you have played a previous Hitman game, then you should kinda know what to expect, but this will blow anyone away.

The gameplay is so free, and open that is ridiculous! It makes you say, how can you have that much freedom in one game? I guess I should explain why it is that the game play is awesome. To put it simply, you can do almost anything.

There is no set path that you have to take to eliminate your target(s). You can branch off, and find like over Thirty ways to kill him/her. You can use all sorts of weapons, and kill anyone that you need to. You can travel where ever you want on all of the levels, and there are no restrictions placed on you like in other games.

If you need a disguise, then you have plenty of them to choose from. It does not matter whether or not you want to be a doctor, a garbage truck worker, an F.B.I. Agent, or even a bouncer. You can choose several different things on each and every level in Hitman: Blood Money. If you want the disguise, then all you have to do is simply kill the person that is wearing the disguise, and then you can take it for yourself.

You can also kill each target in a number of different ways. You can kill them discreetly with something like poison, or fiberwire. You can poison their food, or just inject it into them with your syringe. Or, if you prefer another method, then you could try the actiony, and flashy way of taking out your target. You can run through the area guns a blazing and see if you can kill everyone. You can set them up for an accidental kill and make it look like the entire thing was an accident.

There are endless possibilities to how you can kill your targets, or other people in the game. It really is amazing what they did. I can see where they focused all their time and efforts on.

I give the gameplay for Hitman: Blood Money, a 10/10.

Lastability

Alright, I just want to double check and make sure that the readers of my review, if there are any, have read over the game play section. Because, well, that should pretty much cover it. With all the endless possibilities that there are for every level, this game will last quite a while. While it is true that there are only Twelve levels, each one of those levels can be re-played a countless number of times, with you doing something different on each level, every time. That is probably the greatest thing about the Hitman video games apart from the superb game play. The lastability of the game, and how long it will last.

This game will last any person that plays it a very long time, and even if somehow, they do get tired of it, and put Hitman: Blood Money up on their shelf, they will quickly pull it back down and play it some more. The game is that good. Not to mention with players trying to discover all the easter eggs, and secrets about it that they can, then you know that it will last a long time.

As I still play this game, I know.

I give the lastability of the Hitman: Blood Money, a 10/10.

Overall

I have looked over the faults of the various factors in Hitman: Blood Money, and I pointed them all out. I examined the pros, and the cons of this game, and let you all read about them. The only place that I did not find anything bad, was in the gameplay, because well, it speaks for itself. Any Hitman fan will tell you that the game play is great, no matter what game you are playing.

The graphics, while generally bad and shaky, do actually look pretty good in certain parts, and areas if the games. The graphics in Hitman: Blood Money are better than in Hitman: Contracts and Hitman: Silent Assassin, but they are also a lot more glitchy.

The sound, while in some areas is dull and bland, is also extremely beautiful in some parts of the game. Although the voice actors seemed to have no passion in their lines, it was still done good enough. Overall the sound was good, not great, but good.

The game play, and lastability of Hitman: Blood Money tie in very well with each other. With all the different ways that you can complete each level, and all the different disguises that you can use, this game will last any one a long time. It is also a great deal of fun.

Here is my overall rating. I give Hitman: Blood Money for the XBOX, an...8/10.

That is my rating, but each person may be different. The best thing to do is play the game, and see if you like.

Well, I am done, and I hope everyone enjoyed my review.
