Introduction

Grad Theft Auto : San Andreas - One of the biggest games ever to be released on the biggest medium on the planet ; video games. I've decided to give my expert opinion on (the currently) best Grand Theft Auto game from the Grand Theft Auto series, as I've been playing them since Grand Theft Auto 2.

Though you don't need this review to buy this game, because of all the hype it built 4 years ago - and the hype it's still building today. If you don't have this game yet, for any platform it's available on, you really need to go out and buy it instantly, to avoid embarrassment.

O.K, so hopefully you'll understand things that I wrote and how critical I am to give the best aspects of the game.

Graphics

The Graphics are the thing that left the game down the most. In real life, your mouth doesn't move up and down only, and your lips don't move up and down simultaneously (only). And of course your hands are not stuck together. Shops are also another thing, they look like a "last minute thing" that the developers just "threw in".

Though I think for how large the game is and all other parts that had to be added the graphics aren't so bad. I expected there to be a major difference on the PC version of the game, though, it's still on the same base. I'm sure backgrounds as such would be rendered better however, on the PC version, with a graphics card in your PC.

Verdict - 7/10

Sound

The sound in this game is brilliant. The Sound FX (the noise of cars, pedestrians etc.) isn't so bad either. Sounds are reflected in a comical way from pedestrians. Example : Walking passed a random person on the street could enable them to say a generally funny comment.

Apart from the FX, you get classic songs from the 90's on the available radio stations : Radio X (Alternative Rock), Radio Los Santos (Modern Rap), Master Sounds (Jazz/Soul), CSR (Modern R'n'B), Bounce FM (Disco), Playback FM (Classic Rap), SF-UR (House), K-Jah West (Reggae) and of course the radio station that derived from the famous "K-Chat" in Vice City - WCTR ; which has more hilarious news stories (that actually tells stories from recent missions) and chat shows.

In San Andreas, there's a sound for everyone.

Verdict - 9/10

Gameplay

What can I say? The gameplay in San Andreas is like no other. It is the best gameplay in a game I've ever seen. You can fully customize your character (CJ) - from head to toe. Build his stats i.e YOU make him fat, strong, skinny, sexy etc.

There are 3 full cities for you to drive around. All three part of California - Los Santos (Los Angeles), San Fierro (San Francisco) and Las Venturas (Las Vegas). All with their own personality from real life. Whether it's gang fights in Los Santos or gambling in Las Venturas, the game has it all.

The cars are also fully customizable after you complete certain missions and advance in the game. In Los Santos there's a Low Rider shop to customize Low Riders. It's called Loco Low Co. Situated in Willow Field. In San Fierro there is a shop where you can customize Tuners (such as the Sultan of Elegy) called Arch Wheels Angles. For any other car that doesn't fall under those categories there is Transfender. There is one transfender shop in every city.

You can ultimately do anything in it. Date girls, heists (on certain missions) place bets in the bookies and do illegal street races. It IS the ultimate game.

Verdict - 10/10

Lastability

The game lasts forever. Three years after it's release on PC I'm still playing it and I'm still playing it four years after it's PS2 debut. There game really makes you beg for more and that's just it - it always has more.

It lasts a lifetime and is guaranteed hours of endless play and fun. It's especially appealing to people who want to feel something "different".

Verdict - 10/10

Overall

Overall San Andreas is like a miracle game that everyone was waiting for. It basically has everything whether you're a hardcore gamer or a recreational gamer.

It appeals and gets addictive in a matter of minutes. If this game built hype globally I can't wait to see GTA IV - which will be the "proper" next release after San Andreas. (Not like Vice City and Liberty City stories).

Verdict - 9/10

So thanks for reading this review and if you don't have this game, as I've said before you're missing out on so much, especially the PC version.
