Well there arent certain items you need to buy but you need to completely redo your house. There is no certain items you need. Just buy things. Hope this helps

You need to buy a cetain type of plant, any plant will do, lucky for you I'm still stuck trying to get a wild party going on so if you know anything about that..

Sorry, I was just playin the sims AGAIN and I figured it out, when they tell you to upgrade you're abdoe wateva, The best time to do it is when you just get into the new house! Oncce you arrive, hurry and buy somethin over 1000 and badda bing badda boom! I figured this out bc you havnt sold anything yet. You have to have a certain amount of household worth, so make sure not to sell anything in the house or the goal will go away! Coolio rite? The other sims games are better suited at this goal cause they tell you how much to spend, you're welcome =)
