Okay so I have gotten the boomrang and everything but I am stuck where there is like the cage in middle of a lake a lift that goes between it what do I do I try hitting the other switch but I can not hit with the deku leaf?

Turn around and use your Deku Leaf to blow against the wall that's behind you. It should propel you forward far enough so that you can hit the fan with your Deku Leaf wind blast.
