I don't know if this is better. Have lloyd cast beast and genis cast explosion and you get fiery beast.

There is a usion attack called lighting tiger with Lloyd and genis here is how to do it:
Lightning tiger blade
Tiger blade + lightning
Heavy tiger blade + thunder blade
Heavy tiger blade + spark wave
Tiger rage + thunder blade
Tiger rage + spark wave
O.K.
