Question for Super Mario Sunshine

On Gelato Beach, Episode 8 : The Watermelon Festival, How do you or what is the easiest way to get the huge watermelon at the top of the area down to the Pianta dude, coz everytime the Watermelon blows apart because of the Catta-Quacks in the way.

Knock the Watermelon off the edge and down the hill, it shouldn't break.
Now that it's at the bottom of the hill, push it until a Quack dude gets in your way, then just spray him and take him out, repeat until you can safely make it to the dock. Finally, slowly push the Watermelon across the dock and you'll earn your Shine - good luck Mario Cheater =)

I killed all the Cataquacks on the beach first, by either drawing them to the water, or using the Dune Buds.
The ones around the base of the rear mirror buildings, I couldn't kill. There are 6+1 around the base of the rear left one, and 4 around the base of the rear right one.

After pushing the huge watermelon down the faded dirt path, I slid after it and knocked into it, making it fly through the air, onto the mirror, bypassing the 4 Cataquacks below. I sprayed/passed the Cataquacks here and pushed the watermelon down to the beach area, near the Sand Cabana. Then pushed it to the Surf Cabana.
