On chain chomp's bath I let the chain chomp go except I don't know what to do now?

You have to direct them toward that pond/spring in the center of the level.

You have to turn them to the right direction to make them go right in to the spring in the middle of the level.

After you release him from the ground, squirt him to cool him off and pull him to that really big bowl looking pool. What I did is that I waited until he was close to there and then I cooled him off and pulled him into the pool(this takes a while though so you have to be patient). MAKE SURE THAT HE IS COMPLETELY COOLED OFF BEFORE YOU GRAB HIS TAIL BECAUSE THEN YOU WILL START TO LOSE A SEGMENT OF YOUR LIFE(the sun thing in the top right hand corner of the screen). He does become hot again though.
