To get the chaos emeralds, you must collect all of those special rings in a single act. (That would be 7 of them.) When you finish the act, you will keep running, while you would usually slide to a stop. You will enter the special stage, where your goal is to collect as many rings as you can. I think you had to collect 30, it may have been 50. During the stage, you will se an arrow, this tells you where an evil robot is. You cannot destroy it, just slow it down by jumping on it. You will also be slowed down and bounced backwards, so just syay away from it. (The arrow color lets you know if it is getting too close.) Afte beating the special stage with enough rings, PRESTO!!! You have won the grand prize! A CHAOS EMERALD!!!
