Question for Pokemon Sapphire

Where on the ship do you get the scanner? I've searched high and low (figure of speach) for it and can't find it.

There's a room that has a small water spot. You use Dive and you Dive all the way to the end of the room. Then you go up, and there will be 6 cabins. Some of them are locked, so you have to get into the other cabins and try to find the keys to the other rooms. When you walk into the room, you will see some flashes. Go to where you see the flashes and press "A." They will either be items, keys, or trash. Then you will find a key to a room and there will be a Pok�ball in one of the rooms. It will either be a Scanner, TM 18 (Rain Dance), or a Water Stone, depending in which room you go into. That's it!

You go to the room with water in it and use dive, then go to the lit up place and come out of the water and there is the scanner.

You have to unlock all the doors. Through one of them there is a section of water where you can dive. Follow the route and when you come out there is a door. Go through this and get the scanner.
