Question for Pokemon Sapphire

First off I'm using my rom/emulator and I've typed the master code in to the cheats, but when I try to activate max contest hearts is de activates itself can anybody suggest what I'm doing wrong?

Try finding a different Master Code and see if that helps. If it doesn't, try finding a different code for what you are trying to get.
