Question for Pokemon Sapphire

This may seemed messed up but,I was just walking around and I heard this,this bird like call out of nowhere so i'm just minding my own busniuss (excuse spelling) and I walked into the grass and(heres the messed up part)a pidgey appeared and it was a lvl80 so I do what I uselly do and I throw a pokeball at it to attempt to catch it and I did.

With one pokeball so I saved my game turned it off and turned it back on and checked my Pokemon,it wasn't with me or in my boxes but every Pokemon I checked has been raised to lvl80 and in my box there was a lvl5 jirachi and a lvl5 deoxis.

Now for the question what does this mean?Is this a bad glitch?,becouse if I remember correctly,missingo is lvl80 isn't he?Will this destroy my file if so I am totally screwed.!!!

This could be the result of a defect in the game caused by poor handling, overuse of cheat peripherals, or depreciation. Explain what you did before this happened and we will try to help.
