Question for Pokemon Sapphire

I know that Latias/Latios will appear at random in the open routes after winning the Pokemon league, because I played Ruby with my son and it did appear. However, he is Pokemon league champion in Sapphire and we have played another 6 or 7 hours and the darn thing has not shown up yet. I thought we might have missed it, but it still does not show up in the pokedex. Could there be something else we need to do before it will show up?

Like you said it apears at complete random moments. So though frustrating (INTENSELY) you just wait and look around.

LIERS STATERGY:
wait till youve seen it once then it only appers at the saffari zone.

MY STATERGY:
1train a trapinch because it arena trap
you can get one in the desert while there pick up the fossil if you dont have it.

2fly to a large city buy lots (as much as you can aford) ultra balls and super repels never use ulta repel or your master ball.

3make sure yor trapinch is on level 40-50 and holding a helth berry just incase.

4fly to a random spot and look and look and look and you get it.

I see this problem a lot PokeyMama.
Here is a trap to set.
Look where Latias will appear in your Pokedex and try to change routes and eventually you will be in the same route as it.

Here is what you need
25 Max Repel Items
50+ Ultra Balls
Golbat or Crobat that knows Mean Look.

First Use a Max Repel, to drive the others away then bring out your Crobat or Golbat to first in your Party. Find Her and use Mean Loo.
Now she can not escape.
Kepp throwing Ultra Balls until ypu catch her.

Well, I went to my house and watched tv, and all it said was Dad might like this program.... Since it is not in the Pokedex yet, I know I haven't seen it. Any other ideas?

I never seen latias. But I got latios in the dessert north of maullville city.
