Cats you get the running shoes from your Mom right after you set the clock. If you don't know how to use em simply hold "b" while moving. Hope that helps.

WRONG!! You get them after you meet MAY on Route 103. Then, come back to Littleroot Town, talk to PROF. BIRCH and get your Pokèdex, and then try to leave for Oldale. Your MOM will stop you and give you the RUNNING SHOES.
