How can I get through the desert in route 111? I need a good detailed explantion.

You can pass the sand in route 111 and 112 if you have the GO-Googles.
It is easy follow the path of the sand and don't move on stripped sand so that you don't fight.
Take care there are two fossils there so choose one carefully.
1.Root Fossil:
Pokemon:Lileep.
Evolution:Cradily.

2.Claw Fossil:
Pokemon:Anaroth.
Evolution:Armaldo.

And by the way if you mean what gym you will challenge then it is Petalburg Gym in Petalburg City.
