Trading is the only way if you dont have a cheat devise. Since I had no friends to Trade, I had to switch back and forth from leaf to fire to leaf and back, so, it wont be easy, but, hang in there.

Get two games and start a new version in each. Pick different starters and play until you can Trade. Then trade one of the starters to the other and start a new game again getting the last Starter. Play through it again and trade it over. Then start a brand new version in that one and just settle for one starter in that one. I've done this before.
