you need to have a solid Friendship rating with your lead pokemon other wise he wont give you the egg

your best bet into getting the egg is by having a solid freindship with the lead pokemon in your party like the previous comment has stated. the easiest way to get a solid freindship is just put your Starter Pokemon in the front of your party and then talk to him. Its even better if your Starter pokemon is level 50 or higher
