I was just wondering but can you breed a male Pokemon with a Ditto and get an egg?

Yes you can. You can also breed a female Pokemon with a ditto. Ditto will change gender to the opposite one of the other Pokemon so it is usually used to breed pokemon. Just remember to have them at rouphly the same level or they might not like eachother much.
