Is it true when you catch missingno or m it crashes your game and if it is why?

Missingno WILL NOT crash your game BUT it COLUD delete all of your items. So before attempting to get it, I woul recomend putting your important items in the pc. Trust me I've done this and my items dissapeared. I lost my Bike and stuff so be careful. Wanna no how to get it ok
You need a gameshark and you need to put the walk through walls (WTW) cheat on which is

The must be on thing is the master code, you MUST put this on with the walk through walls cheat on or the cheat wont work ( you will have the option of entering the master code when you input a new game )
Continuing-go to a Pokemon center and go to the battle arena, just walk through the gate and step on one of the things on the floor then a battle will begin and it will PRoBABLY be missingno, if it's not, try again
