I had a 30+ charmeleon and it still obeyed me when it was 40 and I hadd not beat misty does anyone have any ideas why
I think it was because it was friendly with me and it liked me is this true

It doesn't count for your own Pokemon. They only do not obey you if you have aqquired them through Trade.
