There are good, but you probably struggle against Norman's Slaking. If you evolve your Pokemon before battling him, he will be alot easier. Marshtomp evolves on level 36,Lombre evolves by using a water stone on it, Cascoon evolves on level 10, Wingull evolves between level 20-30, Anrotih evolves on level 40 and Zigzagoon evolves on level 16 or 18. Leader of the Petalburg Gym, Norman (or 'Dad' as you know him) has:
Vigoroth Lv27
Spinda Lv27
Linoone Lv29
Slaking Lv31
These are all of the NORMAL type, but have moves of other types. In Norman's gym they use items and smart maneuvers to weaken your Pokemon and as such, they are very much a defensive gym... Rather than using all-out attacks to beat you.
The Pokemon that would be most suitable to beat Norman's Normal type Pokemon are Fighting type, with fighting moves. Or Ghost types with other than ghost moves. (Norman, Normal... You can usually tell the type by looking at the name of the gym trainer!)
But be careful, because they do have moves and some have lots of hp so he's a hard gym to beat. I think your Line up is ok, if the Lv matches. If you can level them up some more and make them stronger than his... Go for it, but a strong fighter will do well. Maybe even a medicham, which is fighting-psychic.
