Question for Pokemon Emerald

Is it true that if I have 200 Shoal Salt and 200 Shoal Shells, the old man in the Shoal Cave will make a special bell? Someone told me. I really wanna know if this is true or not. Thanks to anyone who answers.

It's not 200, I think it's more like 5 or 10 of each. And he will make you a shell bell I think. You might have seen it during a battle frontier battle. It heals you either 1/8 or 1/16 of the damage you just did to the other person. I think it's 1/16. So that makes it a fairly useful item, only slightly less useful then leftovers. But ya the dude above really got the answer to this question wrong.

The 2 above me are both wrong. You need exactly 4 of each, and he will make you a shell bell.(The shell bell is twice as good as leftovers, because it heals 1/8 hp. Every turn, and leftovers heals only 1/16.
You can be sure of this.
