A good Pokemon to use in the Elite Four is a high level Ludicolo(around Level 60) with Ice Beam and a good Grass Attack. This will be extremely helpful for a good reason. Giga Drain/Razor Leaf will take care of the Champion and some of Glacia. Ice Beam will wipe Drake's team dead. Ice Beam also takes care of part of Sidney's team(Crawdaunt and Shiftry to be specific)

Another one is your starter.... Because it's unique to something in the Elite Four. Blaziken can defeat Sidney with ease. Sceptile can do most of the Champion, and if you decided to give it Dragon Claw, Drake. Swampert can survive Pheobe and Drake.

Another good one is a decent Ghost type. Gengar is a great example. This will make sure you win against Phoebe.

Hope this helps you.

A good balance team...Fire,Fighting,Grass/Electric and Ghost are fairly needed...Water/Ice type can be help full later on on Drake..

Fire = Blaziken/Charizard/Thypolsion
Fighting = Blaziken,Medicham, Machamp
Grass = Sceptile and Venasaur
Electric = Jolteon, Raichu, Zapdos
Ghost = Gengar and Dusclops
Psyhic = Alakazam, Gardevior
Water+Ice = Walrein,Swampert, Lapras and Feraligtr...

If you started with Treecko: Sceptile, Rayquaza, Hariyama, Pelipper, Manecric, and Absol.

If you started with Torchic: Blaziken, Rayquaza, Pelipper, Menetric, Absol, Pokemon of your choice.

If you started with Mudkip: Swampert, Rayquaza, Manetric, Absol, Haryiama, Pokemon of your choice.

Try those teams, they should help you win.
