Mystery Gift is only good for allowin' you to trade the secret tickets with someone who already has real copies of them. Other than that it's useless. Cheat if you want the tickets.

When there's a Nintendo Event in your city or town in real life at the place that you buy games at or if you can join up with someone else's SP or GBA with a Wireless Adapter for both of you then both of you push Mystery Gift and you may get a super rare item such as the Old Sea Chart to let you board the ship and go to a brand new island to get MEW!!!!!!!!!! Or you could get a common item such as a Chesto Berry. It's totally random. Hope I helped.

Mystery gift needs to GBA connect...use it and you will get a random item..
