You get it from def the trick master I think it is the 7 time or 6 I don't know but you get it from him

That I think you can have a Linnone pick up from an Elecric type wild pokemon.

Get a Pokemon (i suggest a strong one) with compound eyes, and take pokeballs, and trip to new mauville. If I remember correctly, wild magnemite may have magnets (so be prepared to catch lots : D )

bulbapedia says that in 3rd gen magnemite only drops metal coat, in rse anyway, frlg both have a magnet drop, just not rse
