When you go north of Mauville there is a way into the desert. It is in that area that it appears. You don't even have to go into the desert to see it.

Once you've obtained the Go-Goggles and spoken with the Fossil Maniac near Fallarbor Town, the Mirage Tower should materialise not far from the Route 111 entrance.

Mirage island is very rare.You have to talk to the man in the house in pacifalog,He will say if it is there or not. Talk to him often or you might miss it.

Mirage Tower appears at the south end of the desert but appears randomly. Check each day to see if it's there.
