You must obtain an old sea chart. Use an Action Replay or go to a Nintendo Event. You can also mix records with a game that has the chart downloaded to their game already.

Here's how I got mew. I inserted my gameshark and put in the cheat for mew. Then I battled him. Threw a master ball and caught him. I never went to the island you should catch him on.
