I was wondering, what is the difference between Ruby/Sapphire and Emerald? I haven't got Emerald but from the screen shots they look pretty much the same.

The diffrences are that you can catch every Pokemon in the game and you have the batlle frontier and some more islands that you can visit also you can face gym leaders again
The game itself is the same, but there are a few axtras you can get and do. For example, there is a Pokemon renting place, you can catch both Groudon and Kyogre, etc...
In this one they have added a new feature called the battle frontier.
I don't know what all the diffrences are but in ruby/safire you can't go to the battle fronter.
In emerald there are more things to do and you catch more pokemon
There aren't many differences. A few notable ones of Emerald are that Wallace in the eighth gym has been replaced by his mentor Juan and the Champion Steven has been replaced by Wallace. There is also the addition of the Battle Frontier. And just like they did in Crystal, the Pokemon moves when in battle. But the basic storyline is the same and they're the same adventure.
The difference is that you can battle the gym leaders again and you can go to the battle frontier.
Hope I help
Their is a lot difference. The battle frontier, Pokemon availability, contests, E4, battles, color(green clothes etc.), and Battle tents.
Please rate and verify this.
Another difference is that you can vs 2 trainers at one time if you walk in between them.
