Question for Pokemon Emerald
PLEASE HELP!
I am going to get an Action Replay - but which ones work for Emerald?
Do I have to get the Action Replay Max, or the Normal reddish colored one; or do they both have codes for Emerald?
I would hate to purchase something and then have it not work.

Versions 5.8 & 5.9 DO NOT contain Emerald cheats-but you cvan put them in yourself! I am not sure if there is a version yet w/preloaded Emerald codes at all-it may say on the box OR their website!!
If you can, get 5.9 rather than 5.8 since all the encounter codes for FR/LG that didn't work before have been fixed!!!
Whatever you get, you can put in your own codes easily-except the AR Duo or something like that-that won't take normal AR codes.
I have 5.8 and it's clear colored and the normal one, so I dunno about the red color you speak of, sorry. My friend's 5.9 he just got is also clear.

Well, the ruby/sapphire versions had a kyogre and groudon on the front cover of the AR. FR/LG had venusaur and charizard on the front. So, I'm guessing you'd have to look for an AR with a rayquaza on the front. Try your best in finding one. Rate this answer.

It says on the box what it works for. It should say Gameboy advance and gba sp. It doesn't just work for specific games. Btw I have a clear one.

Mine is a 5.4 and all the codes I have for Emerald work. They do the same thing but go for the more up to date one.

My best bet is to go with red I use red and my cheats usually work fine, when it's not screwing the game play, I have the fr/lg red one, it's good if you want an easy choice of cheats from the web.
I used the masterball and rare candies in pc cheat and I couldn't have been happier with the cheats.

When I said 'reddish one' I meant the one with the red box that works for R and S. What are the ones for FR and LG? Can you buy them off of eBay? This is where I was going to get my AR because I have no other stores close to me which stock them. Thanks
