You take a male and female Pokemon that belong to the same egg group. After putting both of them in a daycare center, they should do what animals do best and breed with each other, making an egg.

In addition to what Forgoten Scars said, you can also get a Ditto and any Non-Legendary Pokemon and have them breed. It's a lot easier than hunting for both male and female Pokemon.
