Well, no, they are not SUPPOSED to mess up games. They are not made to intentionally mess up games. They are made to make the games more fun, but when these cheat codes go into the game and alter the stuff in the game, weird stuff can happen. Weird things like your game freezing, people becoming invisible, the Gameshark not working anymore. A lot of things can happen, so you just need to be cautious about which cheat codes you want to use, and which ones you don't. I would not use anything that you see from another site. The only codes that I would use, would be off of Gameshark.com. That way, they have less of a chance to mess up your game since they are official you could say. Point is, you never know what will happen, so watch out, but it will not intentionally mess up your game, and it was not made with that purpose in mind.
