Get a Pokemon that has the ability 'pickup'. In emerald, you can find most of these pokemon. But not all.

The Pokemon that have the pickup ability are: meowth, phanpy, zigzagoon, linoone, aipom, ambipom, pachirisu, munchlax and teddiursa.

In emerald, the level of the items and frequency at which they will find these items will depend on the pokemon's level. Make sure it is not holding an object.

In diamond and pearl, it is the same.

Make sure they are above lv 21.

Between lv 21-30, the chance of them picking up a rare candy is rare.
Between lv 31-40 it is very uncommon.
Between lv 51-100 it becomes gradually more common.

I prefer to use Linoone, around level 50 and up they usually pick up rare candies and the other good stuff... I'm not telling

When you know waterfall(HM)go to the town north west of the riegon and climb the waterfall west of town to get a rare candy.

dont use rare candies...they ruin your pokemon. 1 or 2 is alright but when you start cloning them and getting your pokemon up 60 levels using rare candies then the pokemon will always miss their attacks.

If you've collected all the rare candies in the game get Zigzagoon, linoon, phanpy, aipom, meowth or some other Pokemon that have pickup. Make sure they are all at least Lv 21 or you will not be able to receive rare candies from them. Getting Lv 51 to 100's with pickup is very useful. Keep going into battles and win (knock out the wild Pokemon) all that you come across. Every 2 to 3 battles chech your party. If they have the item symbol then theyve picked something up (they mustn't be holding anything or they can't use pickup). If you have 5 pickup Pokemon and the Pokemon you want to use them on, when you find a rare candy you can use it straight away. Or you can save the rare candy. By doing this you can get as much rare candy as possible before your bag is full.

Just ask the game director why he didnt make more poison type gym leaders/elite 4's and then he will say "i am jealous of them " then he says"....." then he gives you 10 rare candys.

Rare candies are truly a bad thing who wants +0~2 per stat a level up?
What you really, really want is the hold item "Lucky Egg" it doubles your exp gain they can be found on wild Chansey. The move "Thief" is your friend in hunting them.

Well this is old as hell but just in case anyone comes across this; rare candies only give you experience most of a mons stats come from ivs and evs so it is perfectly fine to use as many rare candies as you want just make sure you put in the evs where you want them also make sure you do so before the mon reaches lvl 100 you can't change evs after that
