Ok I know where and when the heart events are but when I go to get them they don't work, so far I only got the black heart event to work, am I doing something wrong?

Is the girl's heart the color of the next heart event? The heart events will only work if the girl's heart color is the same as what the heart event is supposed to be. For example: you can not have a blue heart event when the girl's heart color is purple. Just give your girl stuff she likes until her heart color is the color of what the heart event is supposed to represent. Then see if the heart event activates.
