Well giving them stuff they like for example karen loves wine. It normally also takes alot of time and money for presents. Or you could have a glitch in your game like my ds harvest moon that deletes your relation status once you turn it off. So just talk and give the girl you like gifts every day. Do the hart event needed and wait.

For me I like mary so I just give her something she likes and talkes to her 2 times and befriendsing her parents that add her affection to me quarreling with gray helps me,too. And sometimes thier are events that add up their affection if you have the right reply to her.. I hope this helps you

You can give them flowers if you don't have a lot of money. And it takes some time till her hearts changed colors, so be patient. If you want to marry someone fast, try Elli(The girl at clinic). She likes all kinds of flower so you don't need a lot of money to make her like you.

If you have money, give her things that she love most:
Karen - popcorn
Elli - hot milk
Popuri - scrambled eggs
Ann - cake
Mary - veggie juice
I started courting them simultaneously on spring of year 2, giving them things mentioned above. Their hearts turned to red before winter of the same year.
You must also trigger their heart events.
