How can I save the game?

I know that this is a really really silly question for a newbie like me. How can I save my game?! Everytime I go to my house and go to my diary, I can't save my game! PLEASE HELP ME!!

If that will not work, try pushing Start and click the diary there, then click save and click a file.

Maybe if you have a fake copy or try clean the cartdrige...--'

Any cartridge based game system without and internal battery or memory card saves the game to a small battery within the game cartridge itself. If used often the battery will die and you must replace it manually. This will erase any and ALL data on that game, but it will now be able to save.this was a problem with games that used real time clocks like Pokemon crystal for GBC. As far as I understand it it may work on any game with battery backup. (I suspect my copy of Super Mario RPG has the same problem) I do not know how to replace the battery so please try to find someone who does.Good Luck!
