I need info on how do I throw ropes from one cliff to the other.

Not a problem... You need to go back to Daila (the first town you arrived at in the game) and head south from there, and get to a place called Kandorean Temple.
In Kandorean Temple you must complete the puzzles and you will get a new psynergy that will help you with this.
If you're having trouble getting into Kandorean temple when you get there, go to outside the western (left) wall. There is a leafy area... Use sheba.
And the first time I played this game, I had a little trouble in an are with steam... The trick is to cover one, and stand on the other one until the stema shoots you upward... You will get what I mean when you get there!
