You first get mystery gift but you need these items:

2 Game Boy Advance

1 Trade cable ( No Old One Made before Pokemon Sapphire and Ruby )

1 E-reader ( Swipe the card while in mystery mode )

1 E-reader Card ( Item go to Norman ) ( Trainer go to Mossdeep )

When You Get It Right Go to Mossdeep Then Go TO the Old Man House He'll Be in front of the door.

Ask him he let you though the door and he going to let you battle the trainer you swiped though the E-reader.
