Question for Pokemon Silver

My friend and I can't trade our Pokemon to each other. I don't know how to get the trade thingy to work. Also I have all 16 badges, and he only has 8 and he hasn't beat the Elite Four.

HELP ME PLEASE.

The number of badges you two have shouldn't matter. Go to a Poke Center. Go up the stairs and talk to the first Lady you find upstairs. (Do this on both games.) Then it will tell you to save and choose yes. The you go into the room after the Lady moves out of the way. Go to the empty chair and press A.

Wait and you should your friends party on the bottom and yours' on the top. Now select the Pokemon to be traded. (1 at a time) The game will initiate the trade from here. After you're done, go all the way down to cancel. Then walk out of the room and you now have new Pokemon in your Pokedex.

Both of you have to go to the first lady upstairs of the Pokemon center. Then, you both have to talk to her at the same time. She should say "Please come in."

Firstly, the only thing in the game that can prevent you from trading is if you possess the item 'Teru-Sama', a strange glitch seen by few people. I happen to have it myself.

Start out by hooking the link cable between the two GameBoys in the cable slots. Make sure it is a link cable combatible with use between the two systems that you are trading between. Now, turn on the GameBoys. Grab the Pokemon you want to trade and go to the upper floor of a Pokemon Center. Talk to the woman who brings you to the trading room.

With your Pokemon handy, you will arrive at a screen with a list of the Pokemon on each Game Pak in that person's party.

It's pretty simple from there. Pick the Pokemon you want to trade and select the option to do so, going through any procedures in between.
