Where do i find a pichu?

Can anyone help me? I can't find it anywhere.

Find two pikachus (one male one female) or a pikachu and a ditto. Then just breed them in the Day-Care. Pikachu can be found on Route 2

Breed a Ditto and a Pikachu in the darcare centre.

Out pops a Pichu (:

Pichu can also be caught in the grassy areas near Mt.Silver in the Mornings/afternoons.

Hi I'm recently playing Pokemon silver,but what I can't seem to understand is that I was suppose to choose between a charmander and a ivysaur,why is that so I mean isn't charmander one of the starters you must choose from in the generation one games?
